Dexketoprofen belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the action of a substance in the body calledcyclo-oxygenase.  By blocking cyclo-oxygenase, dexketoprofen prevents the production ofprostaglandins and therefore reduces inflammation and pain. Along with Peripheral analgesic action it possesses central analgesic action.

Dexketoprofen trometamol is a modified non-selective COX inhibitor with a rapid onset of action that is available as both oral and parenteral formulations.Anti-inflammatory agents that are non-steroidal in nature. In addition to anti-inflammatory actions, they have analgesic, antipyretic, and platelet-inhibitory actions.They act by blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, which converts arachidonic acid to cyclic endoperoxides, precursors of prostaglandins.
Application
1. clinical used in pain treatment of dysmenorrhea, toothache, surgical operation, wound and with inflammation.
