Vitamin K3, also known as menadione, is an organic compound with the chemical formula of C11H8O2. It is a coagulant in clinical practice and can be used to treat bleeding diseases caused by vitamin K deficiency, such as neonatal hemorrhage, vitamin K deficiency caused by intestinal malabsorption, and hypothrombinemia.

Application&Function

Vitamin supplements. Vitamin K is an essential substance for liver synthetic enzyme (factor B), and participates in the synthesis of coagulation factors VII, IX and X, maintaining the physiological process of blood coagulation in animals. Lack of vitamin K can cause the above coagulation factor synthesis disorder, affect the coagulation process and cause bleeding. Vitamin K is also necessary for the vitamin K dependent carboxylation system in animal body (mainly in liver, bone, testis, skin, kidney and other tissues and organs), and is an indispensable factor in the synthesis of osteogen (BGP). In addition, it plays an important role in the metabolism of high-energy compounds and oxidative phosphorylation, as well as in the metabolism of other fat soluble vitamins, and has the functions of diuresis, enhancing liver detoxification, participating in membrane structure, and reducing blood pressure
