Function
Ceftriaxone Sodium is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. Ceftriaxone Sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin.
1.Ear (otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae,Moraxella catarrhalis,and S. pyogenes.)
2.Nose,sinuses (sinusitis),Throat (tonsillitis,pharyngitis caused by S. pyogenes )
3.Chest and lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae)
4.And Urinary system and Uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Application
The main clinical infection for susceptible strains of meningitis, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, peritonitis, urinary tract infections, gonorrhea, liver and gallbladder infection, surgical trauma, sepsis, and genital infections. As a treatment for gonorrhea has been first-line drugs.
Ceftriaxone injection is often used (in combination, but not direct, with macrolide and/or aminoglycoside antibiotics) for the treatment of community-acquired or mild to moderate health care-associated pneumonia. It is also a choice drug for treatment of bacterial meningitis. In pediatrics, it is commonly used in febrile infants between 4 and 8 weeks of age who are admitted to the hospital to exclude sepsis.
