Lysozymes mainly destroy the interaction between N-acetyl cell wall acid and N-acetylglucosamine in the cell wall β- 1,4 glycosidic bond, which decomposes insoluble mucopolysaccharides of cell wall into soluble glycopeptides, leading to the escape of the contents of cell wall rupture and the dissolution of bacteria. Lysozyme can also directly combine with negatively charged viral protein to form a complex with DNA, RNA, and apo protein to inactivate the virus.
