Mainly used for urinary tract, intestinal and ear canal infections caused by sensitive gram-negative bacilli and staphylococci, such as urethritis, cystitis, dysentery, enteritis, otitis media, etc.
Pipemidic acid's antibacterial activity and antibacterial spectrum are stronger and broader than nalidixic acid, but not as good as fluoroquinolones (norfloxacin, etc.); bacteria resistant to nalidixic acid may still be sensitive to this product.
