Povidone iodine is a loose compound combined with elemental iodine and polymer carrier. Povidone serves as carrier and synergistic agent.At room temperature, it is yellow brown to brown red amorphous powder.Slightly smelly, easily soluble in water or ethanol, aqueous solution is acidic, insoluble in ether and carbon tetrachloride.Povidone iodine aqueous solution without iodine tincture shortcomings, light color, easy to elute, little irritation to mucosa, no need for ethanol deiodization, no corrosive effect, and low toxicity.

Application&Function

1. It is used for suppurative dermatitis, skin fungal infection, small area of mild burn and scalding, and also for disinfection of small area of skin and mucous membrane wounds.
