Flurbiprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAIA) with antipyretic and analgesic activity.Target: PGE synthaseFlurbiprofen, a propioni aci derivative, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAIA) with antipyretic and analgesic activity. Oral formulations of flurbiprofen may be used for the symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and anklylosing spondylitis. Flurbiprofen may also be used topically prior to ocular surgery to prevent or reduce intraoperative miosis. Flurbiprofen is structurally and pharmacologically related to fenoprofen, ibuprofen, and ketoprofen. Flurbiprofen may have unique pharmacological properties that reduce the accumulation of unfolded proteins and may represent a new class of drug for the fundamental treatment of obesity.

Application&Function

1. (1) Prevent the occurrence of aphakic cystoid spot edema after lens removal in eye surgery. (2) Treatment of inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye after cataract and trabeculoplasty laser surgery. (3) Suppress pupil contraction during surgery.
2. It is clinically used to inhibit pupil dilation during internal eye surgery and postoperative anti-inflammatory. Treatment of inflammation after laser trabeculoplasty and other anterior segment tissues. It also has a therapeutic effect on contact lens-induced giant papillary conjunctivitis, anterior uveitis and cystoid macular edema.
