Guitarimycin is a macrolide antibiotic, also known as guitarimycin tartrate or tartaric acid crystal white mold. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to erythromycin, and it is effective against Gram positive bacteria, some negative bacteria, spirochetes, mycoplasma, and rickettsia. The antibacterial effect of this product on the vast majority of Gram positive bacteria is slightly weaker than erythromycin, and it is more effective than penicillin, erythromycin, and tetracycline on drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Bacteria develop resistance to this product slower than erythromycin.

Tartrate guitarimycin is a macrolide antibiotic extracted from the culture medium of Streptomyces pyogenes. It is a white or slightly yellow crystalline powder that is difficult to dissolve in water. Its tartrate salt (tartrate guitarimycin) is a light yellow powder that is easily soluble in water and has high stability.
Tartrate Guitarimycin is an antibiotic used to treat upper respiratory tract infections, infections caused by penicillin G resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Gram positive bacteria, acute mastitis, tonsillitis, biliary tract infections, as well as pertussis, mycoplasma pneumonia, gonorrhea, and sepsis.
