Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat diseases such as peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It can specifically act on the site of the proton pump in gastric wall cells and convert it into the active form of sulfonamide. Then, it irreversibly binds to the thiol group of the proton pump through disulfide bonds, forming a complex of sulfonamide and proton pump (H+- K+- ATPase), thereby inhibiting the activity of the enzyme and preventing H+from being transported into the gastric cavity, blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion and greatly reducing the amount of gastric acid in gastric juice. Therefore, this product has a strong and long-lasting inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion caused by various reasons, such as basal gastric acid secretion and gastric acid secretion caused by histamine, pentagastrin, and stimulation of the vagus nerve, including gastric acid secretion caused by dibutyl cyclic adenosine monophosphate that cannot be inhibited by H2 receptor blockers. This is related to the irreversibility of the inhibitory effect of this product on proton pumps, and the acid secretion can only be restored after a new proton pump is formed.
Application&Function

The use of omeprazole
1. Used for gastric and duodenal ulcers, stress ulcers, etc.
2. Used for reflux esophagitis and gastrinoma.
3. This injection can also be used for:
(1) Gastrointestinal bleeding, such as peptic ulcer bleeding, anastomotic ulcer bleeding, etc., as well as prevention of severe diseases (such as cerebral hemorrhage, severe trauma, etc.) and upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastric surgery.
(2) Acute gastric mucosal injury caused by non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs during stress state.
(3) After general anesthesia or major surgery, as well as in comatose patients, to prevent acid reflux and aspiration pneumonia.
4. When combined with amoxicillin and clarithromycin, or with metronidazole and clarithromycin, it can effectively kill Helicobacter pylori (Hp).
