Polymyxin B is an antibiotic against Gram negative bacteria, which has bactericidal effects and strong antibacterial effects on most Gram negative bacteria, with a more significant effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It also has good effects on Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, influenza bacteria, pertussis bacteria, gas producing bacteria, and pneumonia bacteria. But Proteobacteria is not sensitive to this product. Polymyxin has a chemical book effect on bacteria in both the growth and reproduction period and the dormant period. In the past, it was mainly used in clinical practice to treat Gram negative bacterial infections, especially various infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, such as respiratory system infections, peritonitis, bile duct infections, urinary tract infections, burn infections, corneal infections, and sepsis.
