Elastin is an extracellular matrix protein that provides elasticity and resilience to tissues such as arteries, lungs, tendons, skin, and ligaments. Elastic fibers have two components, one of which is encoded by the ELN gene. This protein has a high proportion of hydrophobic amino acids, such as glycine and proline, forming a mobile hydrophobic domain. ELN is located on chromosome 7 of the human genome. Alternative splicing of the ELN gene leads to the formation of at least 11 isoforms of proelastic proteins in humans.
Elastin is the main component of elastic fibers and a major hard protein mainly present in the elastic tissues of connective tissues, especially tendons and arteries. Collagen and elastin are proteins in the dermis layer, which is located below the epidermal layer of the skin (the top layer of the skin visible to the eyes).
Application&Function

Cosmetic CAS 9007-58-3 Elastin Peptide ElastinThe hydrophobic amino acid content in elastin is as high as 95%, many of which are glycine, proline, and leucine. When elastin is initially synthesized, it is a water-soluble monomer with a molecular weight of 70000, called tropoelastin. During modification, some proline is hydroxylated to form hydroxyproline. After the original elastin is secreted from the cell, some lysine is catalyzed by oxidase to be oxidized into aldehyde groups, and then condensed with the ε - amino groups of other lysine to derivatives, called streptones.
1. Elastin can improve vascular aging and protect cardiovascular health.
2. Elastin can enhance skin elasticity and improve skin condition.
3. Elastin also plays an indispensable role in inhibiting chest sagging.Cosmetic CAS 9007-58-3 Elastin Peptide Elastin
