Natamycin is classified as a macrolide polyene antifungal, and as a drug, is used to treat fungal keratitis, an infection of the eye.It is especially effective against Aspergillus and Fusarium corneal infections.It is produced during fermentation by the bacterium Streptomyces spp. Natamycin inhibits not only the growth of different kinds of moulds and yeasts but the production of their toxins with high efficiency.
Application & Function
1.Natamycin 50% is a natural, broad-spectrum, efficient, and safe yeast and fungi and other filamentous fungal inhibitors, it can not only inhibit the fungus but also to prevent the production of mycotoxins. Natamycin is most often used by spaying for surface treatment. It can also be mixed or dipped. The recommended dosage varies for as applications are different. Generally for most of the foods 100ppm natamycin can effectively inhibit the spoilage caused by moulds and yeasts.
2.Natamycin 50% has a good anti-mildew effect on the moon,baked goods,meat products, salad drinks, and other fields.
3.It can be used as eye drops and oral agents.
4.Besides, natamycin can be used on silage storage and fruit storage. It kills and inhibits over 100 kinds of moulds that may contaminate grain and animal feed.
