Povidone-iodine is a loose complex formed by the combination of elemental iodine and polymer carrier. Povidone plays a role of carrier and solubilization. At room temperature, it is a yellow brown to brownish red amorphous powder. Slightly odorous, easily soluble in water or ethanol, acidic in aqueous solution, insoluble in ether. Povidone-iodine aqueous solution has no iodine tincture defect, light coloring, easy elution, little irritation to mucosa, no need for ethanol deiodination, no corrosive effect, and low toxicity.
Application&Function
It is a broad-spectrum powerful bactericidal disinfectant with strong killing effects on viruses, bacteria, fungi, and fungal spores. This product has low skin irritation, low toxicity, and long-lasting effects. Safe and easy to use. Basically non irritating to tissues, used for skin and mucosal disinfection, such as preoperative cleaning, surgical site and wound disinfection.
Povidone-iodine is generally made into 10% solution and used as disinfectant. Effective killing: Newcastle disease, bursa of Fabricius, avian influenza, mycoplasma, Escherichia coli, salmonella, influenza, blue ear disease, etc. It can also kill parasitic eggs of livestock and poultry, and inhibit the breeding of insects such as mosquitoes and flies. And it can be used in fruit trees, crops, and fish and shrimp farming.
