Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic.Roxithromycin is derived from erythromycin, containing the same 14-membered lactone ring. However, an N-oxime side chain is attached to the lactone ring. Roxithromycin very slightly soluble in water, freely soluble in aceton e, in alcohol and in methylen e chlorid e. Roxithromycin is slightly soluble in dilute hydrochlori c acid.
