Metadoxine was first developed by the Italian company LABORATORIBALDACCIS.P.A. It is mainly used clinically for the treatment of acute and chronic alcoholism and alcoholic fatty liver, and is also considered to be effective for alcohol withdrawal, reducing dependence on alcohol and improving memory function, especially short-term memory.
Metadoxine can improve liver damage caused by long-term drinking. Animal experiments show that metadoxine has the effect of anti-lipid peroxidation of liver cells and can reduce the accumulation of fat in liver cells of animals with chronic alcoholism.
