Piperacillin is a semi-synthetic carbamide benzyl anti-pseudomonas penicillin. The effect on gram-positive bacteria is similar to that of ampicillin. It has good antibacterial effect on enterococcus, and also has certain effect on some bacteroides and clostridium. It is clinically used for the infection caused by the above sensitive strains (the curative effect on central infection is uncertain).
