Verapamil hydrochloride is also known as "Wu Mai An". "Vipazine". It is a class IV antiarrhythmic drug and is a calcium ion antagonist with almost the same selectivity to the myocardium, sinoatrial node, atrioventricular node and blood vessels. Prevent the inflow of calcium ions, thereby reducing the self-discipline of the sinoatrial node and atrioventricular node, slowing down heart rate and conduction, weakening myocardial contractility, and reducing oxygen consumption; it also acts on vascular smooth muscle to dilate coronary arteries and increase coronary blood flow. and renal blood flow increased significantly, with a moderate antihypertensive effect. It can be used to treat paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, various types of angina pectoris, hypertension and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Intravenous overdose or too fast can cause hypotension, bradycardia, and cardiac arrest. Concomitant use with beta-adrenergic blockers is prohibited.

Application:
1. Verapamil hydrochloride is used in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical industry; mainly for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, but also for angina pectoris, hypertension and hypertrophic infarct cardiomyopathy
2. Verapamil hydrochloride can be used for antiarrhythmic and antiangina pectoris. Most effective for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia; good for atrioventricular junction tachycardia; can also be used for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and premature atrial beats
3. α1-adrenergic receptor antagonists; L-type calcium channel blockers.
