Aripiprazole is a novel high-fat soluble quino-line derivative, which is characterized by its pharmacological action as both postsynaptic dopamine D2 receptor antagonist and presynaptic dopamine D2 receptor agonist.  It also activates D1, D3, and D4 receptors;It has dual effects of partial receptor antagonism or activation on 5-HT1A receptor.
