Sertraline hydrochloride is a first-line antidepressant, which is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitor, mainly through inhibiting 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake by neurons in the central nervous system, increasing 5-hydroxytryptamine concentration in the synaptic gap and enhancing central 5-hydroxytryptaminergic nerve function to achieve the purpose of antidepressant, with only a weak effect on norepinephrine and dopamine, with the advantages of good oral absorption, strong antidepressant effect, long duration of action and few adverse reactions, etc. In clinical practice, it is mainly used for the treatment of depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder to relieve clinically relevant symptoms, and long-term maintenance treatment can effectively prevent the relapse or recurrence of depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Application & Function
